What I love about yoga is that it’s for EVERY BODY!
You’re never too old, unfit or tight to do yoga - as it can be tailor made to suit the individual.
My teaching style reflects this belief. Working closely the breath, you are encouraged to develop self-awareness, and supported to work at your own pace, adapting and adjusting within your limits of fitness & flexibility - without competition – to achieve a sense of physical, mental and spiritual well being. Whether practising in a group class or a one to one setting, your needs are met.

My yoga journey began 20 years ago. Over time, I became aware that subtly woven in and around the postures, breathing, relaxation and meditation I was doing in class, were teachings on philosophy and lifestyle that deeply influenced my way of ‘being’ not just on the mat, but off the mat, in my busy daily life. The discovery of this richly holistic approach to life was so inspiring that in 2006 I completed an Advanced Diploma of Yoga Teaching at Nature Care College, and have been teaching Hatha Yoga ever since.
I am just as passionate about Yoga today, and continue travel and draw inspiration from my ongoing studies in Restorative Yoga, Meditation, Pranayama, Mantra and Ayurveda. For three years, from July 2017, I will be travelling regularly to the Krishnamacharya Healing and Yoga Foundation in India to undertake further studies in Yoga Therapy under the guidance of my teacher Dr Kausthub Desikachar. I look forward to sharing with you!

Yoga therapy
A self empowering, individualised process where the student, working one on one with the yoga therapist,
implements a personalized and evolving yoga practice, in a curative or preventative manner.

As differentiated from a general (group) yoga class, yoga therapy sessions take place in an individualised setting and focus on alleviating your specific illness, reducing symptoms, helping manage disease and improving the quality of life in a progressive, non invasive and complimentary manner. A broad range of tools are used that involve all aspects of our being (taking into account breathing patterns, emotions and intellect, in addition to the musculoskeletal framework of the body) so as to maintain health and wellbeing and manage the challenges of daily life.
I teach both group, corporate and one on one classes in Palm beach, Avalon and Mona Vale

Hi Amanda, Thank you it was such a lovely way to start the day. Our team was fresh and energized ready to take on the day. Sally Brown - Director, Tailor Maid Communications
Amanda has a great talent for adjusting the classes and the poses to suit individual students, and a depth of knowledge about anatomy, physiology and yoga philosophy which really makes the classes special. She has been a great teacher and mentor to me, supporting me on my own journey to become a yoga teacher. I recommend everyone try her classes above the Boathouse! - Claire
"Great yoga experience with Amanda anticipating each person's ability and pace. No pressure! Ideal setting at the Boathouse overlooking Pittwater, followed by good coffee for those interested". - Alan
